Nurse Costume

We have had a year full of Doctor visits.  They have not been very fun.  So to my surprise, when I asked my 3 year old what she wanted to be this year for halloween she said a DOCTOR!
Really, I said.  Are you sure???
(Thank goodness I had seen this post a while back.)

I tweeked it a little by adding the ruffles to the top and the red felt has glitter on it.
I think it adds a little girlie touch to it.
I also made a very simple felt doctor bag to hold all of those doctor tools and that goes with the costume
but can also be used as the goodie bag for trick or treating.  SUPER!!
This nurse has been hard at work, it's been great for dress-up.
We are well taken care of around our house with a live in doctor....or nurse that is :)

October Door Wreath

Hello OcTObER!!!
I bought a metal ring, some black tulle and orange ribbon from hobby lobby and made
my door a much needed October wreath.
I took 1 whole roll of black tulle (25 yards) and cut it into 2 1/2 inch pieces and tide them all around the ring.  Added the ribbon and your done!  It's kinda spooky and chic all in one :)

Candy Corn Garland

I made this garland with felt scraps and ribbon!
I simply hang it on my TV stand...works great for a little touch of Halloween-ness! :)

**UPDATE**
For a really cool tutorial on how you could make one like this check out this awesome site by clicking here.
I will clarify that I did not use the above tutorial to make my banner.  I stumbled across the tutorial after I posted the above post and am therefore sharing another great idea with all of my readers.
Happy Sewing!!

Jewelry Pendant Organizer

It was time to make a home for all of my newly made pendents
So I turned this $1.00 thrift find
Into this pendent holder for my jewelry!!

All I did was spray paint the wood box, let it dry, then mod podge fabric to the bottom.
It fits perfect ontop of my dresser as well as in the top drawer of my dresser!

I also found one of these beauties at the thrift store as well.  A great addition for holding my rings and flower clips.  I also just made THIS for my necklaces.  Check it out too :)
