Give Thanks Banner......free printable link

My Front door FINALLY has something on it.
I guess I have just been waiting for the perfect thing to put on it.
Truthfully, I have had no energy to do anything
(I am super close to having baby #3 so don't get mad at me for complaining just a little)
I guess meeting the less then one week mark makes me give more thanks then usual that I am almost done with this incredibly hard pregnancy.  So to use up some useless mind time I made this in less then one hour.

I found the free printable HERE for all the letters.  To make my banner I sewed some bias tape to the top of brown paper lunch bags, tore strips of fabric I had on hand, whole punched the letter and the paper bags together and tied them with a not, then I used my scallop punch to add scallops to the bottom of each letter.  I then cut off the bottom of the lunch bags since they were a little longer then I wanted and there it is.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Don't forget to Give Thanks to those that you love.
We all have so much to be thankful for.

3 gifts of Christmas 2011 Edition

'Tis that time of year again.  November is here and it will be gone before you know it.  So have you started your Christmas shopping yet?  Are you done (like I am) or are you dreading the thought of even getting started??

My hubby and I started a tradition with our family a few years ago and it's one of our most favorite.  We call it the 3 Gifts at Christmas.  You can go Here and Here and Here and HERE and HERE to see my previous posts about this tradition but in short, we give three gifts to each child at Christmas (not including the stocking).  We have special tags that I made when we first started this tradition and we use them every year.
The 3 gifts are:
The gift of Wonder
The gift of Usefulness
The gift of Meaning

It's a more meaningful way for us to remember the true meaning of Christmas.  Not only is it fun for the kids but my husband and I love it too.  There is something about a much simpler Christmas that truly redirects your thoughts to the Savior.  It helps us teach our children about the 3 gifts the Christ Child was given.

I am excited about this years gifts for my family.  And because a baby is due to come anytime now I had to get a jump start on Christmas.  I am completely finished with all the gifts, so I will be sharing them with you in the next couple of weeks in scheduled posts while I am busy taking care of a new little baby!!  yippee!
But until then, hop on over HERE where I have all my Christmas Ideas in one place.  I hope that each of us can take the stress out of the holiday and remember the real reason for the season.

"Give Thanks" November Decor

I love November.
This November will bring us even more extra blessings with a new baby due to arrive very soon.
And because of that I kept my decor very simple and I am loving it.

Many of the items were used in my Halloween Decor, so I just changed them up a bit to fit into the color scheme I wanted.  One bag of split green peas (78 cents at Walmart), wood wreath ($1.00 at Hobby Lobby),  felt leaves ($2.00 at Michael's), Give Thanks blocks ($3.00) and the other stuff I had on hand.

Happy November to all of you.
Thank you for being a "bloggy" friend of mine.

Ham and Cheese Casserole (step by step)

Ham and Cheese......yummmmm!

Start with some bread.
It's better to use a good thick bread instead of the cheap sandwich bread.  Butter one side and place the butter side down in your pan.  I do 2 8x8 pans so I can have it for 2 nights of dinner.

Then dice up some ham and place that right on top of the bread. The amount depends on how much ham you like, I use about 2 cups for an 8x8 pan.
Now dice up your cheese.  You do not want to use pre-shredded cheese for this.  It does not give you the same results.  I use about 1 cup of cheese for an 8x8 pan.  Mix it up.
Next, butter your bread and place it butter side up.  Then poke some holes in the bread with a fork.  You will then take 1 cup of milk and 3 eggs and wisp those together and then pour it over your bread.
After you pour the milk and egg mixture over the bread, season it with some garlic salt and my favorite is Salad Supreme from McCormick.  Cover this and place in fridge and let it sit for 6-8 hours before you cook it.  Cook for 40-50 minutes on 350*.  Let it set up for about 30 minutes before you serve it to your family.  They will love it for sure!

 Enjoy!!

Welcome November and an announcement!

Hello November!!
it's snowing today
ooh how I love November.  For different reasons.
snow is not one of them.
But the most important reason this year is that the baby boy is due in the next couple of weeks.
Yippee!!
And because of that, I'll be putting my etsy shop in vacation mode soon soon soon.
(although we know that it is no real vacation to have a new baby in the house)

So if you are interested in the
 or a cute
Thanksgiving Pennant banner for your upcoming Holidays
(makes a great hostess gift BTW)
I suggest you put your order in soon cause this
baby could come sooner rather then later!
