Holiday Treats I made

Here is a look at what I made over the holiday, as far as treats go anyway.
I made them for a family Christmas party for Sunday for all to share.
Those that had them truly enjoyed them.
 Peppermint Oreo's:

My Bacon and Onion Cheese balls:
2 pkg of Cream Cheese, 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar, 1/2 cup chopped green onion.  Mix together then roll into individual balls and then roll in cooked, crumbled bacon.  Return to fridge to set then serve. YUM!!

 Chocolate covered pretzels:
One dipped in Score Bar pieces, the other in sprinkles.
So go make yourself some of these treats to ring in the new year
with friends and family!

Neighbor Gifts...Snowman Buttons and Treat Jars

There are only SOME things better then Oreo's.....like brownies :0)
So why not Snowman Buttons!
Here is a little poem that I attached to each gift.
This is what we handed out for neighbor gifts this year!
I found the big pack of Oreo's at Sam's Club.  The box comes with 10 packs of separate pre-packed Oreo's, perfect for gift giving. 20 neighbor gifts for less then $12.00  And so many of them have told me that they loved the buttons!

A simple little gift I gave to a few of the ladies in my neighborhood for Visiting Teaching were these simple little treat jars.
I made them out of baby food jars. I spray painted the lids, filled them with mint m&m's, tied them with a tag and ribbon. Just a simple way of saying Merry Christmas!

Gift of Meaning....12 days of Christmas for your hubby

I am pretty excited about this gift.  Who wouldn't love 12 gifts before Christmas?!?!  Well my hubby is so deserving so for his Gift of Meaning this year this is what I have decided to do....12 days of little meaningful items.
Things he uses and things he eats.
I am going to drop these off to him at work everyday for 12 days.....just to make it more meaningful for him.
I went right along with the song.  I didn't make it to different.  I wrapped up the items as man-ly as I could using brown paper bags and twine.  I used the numbers from here and made a card and tied them onto each bag.  Inside the card is the words of the song for that day.
Here are some of the items I have ready....
Here is the list of all the items I am doing for each day:
(I will buy the milk and fries on the day of)
DAY 1-can of pears
2-turtle candy bar
3-French Fries
4-Notepad
5-bag of Funyuns
6-Egg Nog
7-body wash
8-Chocolate milk
9-socks
10-Jerky sticks (for ten "jerks" a leaping
11-hair gel (for eleven pipers "primping"
12-Peanuts (jar looks like a drum)

I am so excited to start giving these away this week :)

Gift of Meaning.....Dr Seuss PJ's

Our almost 4 year old girl is IN LOVE with Cat in the Hat from Dr. Seuss.
I am happy about that....much better then all the princess stuff.  So for her
Gift of Meaning
this year I found some fabric on etsy and made her a new pillowcase.  And with the extra images I had left over I used them to make some new pajamas.
I can't wait to hear her Squeal with delight :)

I just cut out the fabric, ironed them onto a set of thermal pj's with heat n bond and then zig-zaged around the edges with my sewing machine.

I can just see her hanging out in her new jammies and laying on her pillow
reading all of her Dr. Seuss books.  so sweet!

December Wreath

I wrapped a square wooden frame with a tree garland and a red garland and then took a smaller frame I had on hand and added the fun print inside.  Both frames hang from the same hook on my door.

I found the free printable HERE

The Countdown begins......my new advent

This was the fastest advent I have been able to put together!! So simple and fun. The great thing is I can change it up for different Holidays.
Here is what you need:
Over the door shoe holder with 24 pockets (found mine at Target)
A piece of scrapbook paper with advent numbers ( I saw several different designs at my local scrapbook store) I cut mine out and HARD laminated the numbers so I can use them over and over.
Then I bought 2 packages of mini office clips (found mine at Wal-mart for $0.88 a box) and then tied different ribbons to them.  You use these to hold the numbers.
Now for the hard part.....coming up with 24 different things to do during the month of December.
I LOVE THE POCKETS!!!  They are big enough to hold fun things.....like if you are going to make cookies one night the package of chocolate chips fits in the pocket!!!
We are doing all shorts of different things throughout the month:
make cookies, see the Lights on Temple Square, painting pictures, make a reindeer sock puppet, daddy's birthday party, watch a Christmas movie, read a Christmas story, put up the tree and put out the nativity......
Some nights the kiddies will get a small item like an apron to use throughout the month for when we do cooking, or a Christmas matching game.  I found most of my items at Michael's and the dollar store.
I am so glad that I stumbled across this idea HERE.
I am off to go fill up all those empty pockets!!  (chuckle chuckle)
