Santa Key

We were given a key in a recent 12 days of Christmas gift from my husbands parents.  The minute I saw it I just knew what I would do with it.......turn it into a Santa Key.  My very imaginative 4 year old was asking me a few weeks ago how Santa was going to get into our house with out a chimney....we rent and have no fireplace.  So we told her that we could leave him a key to open our door on Christmas Eve.  She is super excited and a lot less worried now.
So I found this little poem off the internet and changed the words a little to fit my kids.  Tied a ribbon and it is ready to hang on our front door.

Photo Book.....Gift of meaning 2011

Take a look inside my daughters Gift of Meaning for this year:

What almost 5 year old would not love a picture book of pictures full of themselves with the people that they love the most?!  Believe me, mine will love this I am sure.  She not only is a lover of books, but loves pictures too.
The hardest part of putting this together was going through 5 years of pictures.  whew, it was hard but I did it. I had this made at Wal Mart dot com and it only took 2 days to get here....delivered right to my front door.  Perfect!!
(I could not get this done any sooner for I wanted pictures of her with her new baby brother inside. So I appreciated how fast it came.)
I also love how you can personalize it with fun notes inside too.

Hurry up, you only have 11 days until Christmas.
Are you ready?

 I am!!

You can find my other Gifts of Meaning by searching them on my blog.

Neighbor Gifts 2011.....Reindeer noses and Grinch pills

I was so excited to put these treat bags together for all of our friends throughout the neighborhood this year.  Because I have been super busy with a new baby, I needed something fast and easy to put together. 2 boxes of Whoppers, some cherry sour balls and a bag of M&M's went a long way.  I bought the adorable treat toppers from this adorable etsy shop.  And as far as the bags, I already had them on hand.

Play Diaper Bag Kits......gift of Meaning 2011

Every little girl LOVES to play mommy.
Especially my two little girls.
So for their Gift of Meaning for Christmas this year I made each of them their own diaper bag kits.  This is perfect since they had a new baby brother born just a few weeks ago.
I made them each 3 flannel swaddling blankets and some fabric diapers that will fit their animals and their larger dolls.  Then from the dollar store I found bottles filled with juice and milk.
I used this tutorial for the diapers (click here)
I had all the intention in the world of making the diaper bags.......but when I noticed these little bags at the dollar store they were to perfect to pass up for the price.
And there you have it, diaper bags ready to go for two very cute mommies in training :)

Baby Boy Onsies......Gift of Meaning 2011

Since our little guy will only be a month old at Christmas this year, I made him some tie onsies to wear for his Gift of Meaning this year.

They were very simple to make.  Buy the onsies in the size you want, pre-wash and pre-shrink them.
Draw a tie shape onto Heat n Bond, iron that to the wrong side of your fabric, then cut out shapes then iron those right onto your onsie.
