Weekend Wreath with Scraps

Need a little weekend project???
Hit your scraps bin like I did and make yourself a new funky wreath.

I cut out felt circles for the bottom along with fabric circles in different sizes using my pinking shears then glued them to a $1.00 wreath that I wrapped with ribbon.

So if it's cold and rainy this weekend like it is here stay inside and make something with all those scraps!

Simple Hungry Caterpillar Party

Here is a little look at the party we had for our 3 year old.
You know something....it's hard to be the hostess, be 8 months prego, take a ton of pictures and keep little fingers out of the cake all at the same time :)
It was a success and she sure enjoyed her party....made it all worth it!!
Click HERE if you want to know how I made my felt birthday banner
I sooo cheated this time!!  I made the cupcakes and the cake from a box...
then headed to my local bakery to have them make the frosting and dye it the right colors for my caterpillar.
I then went home and frosted the cupcakes and added a small detail to the top.
It was sooooo worth the $5.00 for less stress and yummy frosting :)
I have such great family and friends!
Instead of having them bring a gift I asked if they would bring something to share for lunch.
We had such a delightful menu. Veggies, fruit, potato salad, bean dip, chips, and I made chicken salad sandwiches.
Then of course the cake and ice cream for dessert.  It was fabulous and so fun and simple to put together!!
We also gave each child a little bag of sour gummy worms as a thank you for coming....of course my fingers were not fast enough to get a pictures of those :)
Here is were I first got the idea for my cake
Simple table decorations made out of paper circles, empty tuna cans, floral foam, wooden dowels and easter grass.
Happy Birthday Kidos!

Little Shopping Play Totes

I made these cute little shopping totes to go with the
PLAY KITCHEN I finished a month ago.
They are such a fun little accessory to go with all the play food.
front side:
I found a pack of totes at Joann's using a coupon, then I just drew on these pictures using Elmer's Painters (the same things I used for my Quiet Book), heat set them with an iron and they were ready to go in just a few minutes.

Animal Frames

I made this fun wall hanging for the kids room......yep little by little I am getting the room ready for a new baby!
I found these frames at Michaels and fell in love with them.  I love the vintage look and the fact that they were $1.00 was an added bonus.
I used a stamp set I have and scrapbook paper to create the perfect little wall hanging
to go in the room.  Glued ribbon to the backs of the frames and it was ready to hang.  Not bad for $3.00

Wooden Tile Your Favorite Quote

Do you have a favorite quote that you just love?
Does it need a makeover or does it need a great way to display it's self?
Try this easy project :
I put my favorite quote on a wooden tile board and hung it in my kitchen......the place that I can see it several times a day!  I traced the letters and turtle with a stencil out of paper, added a chip board heart and a button them glued them all to the wood, then sprayed the whole thing with a clear varnish to protect it.
This quote is by Roy Goodman

Spring Flowers in a tin can

Kinda funny that I am posting these flowers after getting 4 inches of snow last night.....no April fool's joke here.....But since I don't have flowers outside, why not make some for inside your house?!
Here is what you need:
empty tuna or chicken cans, easter grass, floral foams, wooden dowels, paper and a circle punch, adhesive
Press the floral foam right into the can (no need to pre-cut it), add the wooden dowel to the middle, cover the can with a strip of paper then add grass.
To make the flowers:
punch out 8 circles(use double sided paper), fold in each side to the middle, put them together and then adhere a circle (that is just bigger then the circle you used for the pedals) to the front and to the back.  Tape or glue the flower to the wooden dowel then add some ribbon for the leaves.
You can use any size circle punch, just depends on how big you want your flowers.
Change it up a bit : top the dowels with paper eggs or I will be changing mine out with caterpillars that I made for my daughters upcoming birthday party.....next week!!
OR make the flowers then add a magnet to the back and dress up your fridge for spring!
Have fun with it!
