Repurpose Cream Soda Bottles into a fun Valentines gift

Sometimes coming up with a fun and creative gift for the hubby can be hard....
So I hit the grocery store because the way to a guys heart is through is stomach RIGHT?!

I took a case of Cream Soda bottles and without making it to "girly" I
decorated it for the hubby for a fun gift that I am sure he will love to snack on!
This is going to be fun to give to him while he is at work for all to see....and hopefully tease :)

Here is the before:
*Cream Soda bottles are clear, so pick those if you want him to see the snacks inside,
if not you can use Root Beer Bottles.
*Empty, wash and dry the bottles well, make sure to keep the bottle caps
*I spray painted the inside of the cardboard case just to hide the yellow, once dry you can decorate it with paper.  I used spray adhesive because it drys faster and works well with paper.
*Then decorate the bottles with paper and ribbon.  I added little tags with a funny saying on each bottle and (because my hubby is a type 1 diabetic) I filled the bottles with his favorite snacks and put the carb amount for each snack on the back side of the tag to make it easier for him as he snacks.

And the After:
What good man wouldn't love this!?
I know mine will!!

I absolutely love that idea. It seems easy enough where I can let my twelve year old make them for his daddy and papa. Thanks for the great idea!

This is great. I just love it! You decorated everything so nicely that it looks like it was made that way. The thought of it being reused doesn't even present itself.

Why don't you come on over to my blog and visit a while

You can do so much with this idea!

I was thinking about making the lables on my computer and was wondering if you could tell me the size I should make them in inches.

Im thinking about doing this as an activity days project.

Rowberry Family said...

It is MUCH cheaper to just go buy the bottles at the grovery store or where ever, I ws at the thrift store the other day anbd they were selling old dirty coke bottles for $3 each and a whole set with the box for $10 WOAH!

These are ADORABLE! I'm in charge of an activity this week for church- I think I'll make these. Thanks for linking to 30days!!

Mommy Jenny said...

I love this and so want to do it for my husband! Just curious though, was it at all difficult to get the treats out of the bottles?

nap time journal said...

MOMMY JENNY- just pick smaller treats and then there is no problem with them coming out. I did put raspberry sticks in one bottle just because they are a favorite of my hubby's, I am sure those will be a little harder to get out but all the other snacks fall right out :) Have fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Jodi said...

So cute - how did you get the caps back on? (sorry if thats a dumb question!)

nap time journal said...

JODI- the caps on these bottles just twisted right back on. I am not sure about other brands :)

How do you take the tops off and put them back on again looking so pretty? Mine get all bent and ruined when I take them off. Thanks for linking up to Topsy Turvy Tuesday's!

The Clark Clan said...

I randomly came across your blog and saw this and am in L♥VE with it! I can't wait to attempt this for my husband. :] But I have to ask just like Ashlee@ Topsy Turvey did, "how did you put the tops back on?"

nap time journal said...

Luckily, the tops just screwed right back on. Just be careful as you twist them off the first time, so they don't get all wacky-like on ya :) Don't use any kind of opener.....that will bend the tops.

Hope that helps!!

The Clark Clan said...

Thank you! :]

I will def link up to your blog after I attempt this so you can see what I came up with.
