Hair Pick Picture holders
So yes I was born in the '80's.....that must be why as I was doing some much needed cleaning out the other day I found a few unused hair picks in a box. I have not used one of those for MANY years....why did I still have them? It must have been because I needed a new idea for holding pictures.....

Chicken Taco Salads
What you will need: lettuce, I can of black beans, taco seasoning, cheese, tortillas, 2 chicken breasts, ranch dressing and green onions
(this recipe makes enough for 2 nights worth of dinners. So 2 daddy size, 2 mommy size and 2 kid size salads)
(My husband bought me the small one a couple of years ago at walmart for less the $10 and it works great for cooking small amounts of meat!!!)
Now for the chicken: Add 1 cup of water to 1 pkg of taco seasoning in the crock pot. Mix together.
Now we like our meat a little stronger so I actually add 2 pkg of seasoning. 1 cup of water is all you need for 2 breasts of chicken. You don't want the meat to be runny.
Cover and Cook on HIGH for about 3 hours.
Once it's cooked, take the chicken out and shred it with forks.
Then place the chicken back in the crock pot on LOW until you are ready to serve it for dinner. This marinades the chicken and gives it even a better taste, so I let it sit in there for several hours.
For the tortilla chips on top: I cut 4 whole tortillas into squares and with a little butter I crisped them up in a pan. I like these much better then bagged tortilla chips....these are much healthier!!

Plastic Basket weaving with Ribbon
I have been looking for the perfect basket for all of my Mini Chipboard Albums and have had no luck for quite some time now. They were either not my style or defiantly not what I wanted to spend. I had some good luck at the DI the other day when I found this plastic crate for $0.50 and brought it home with me
I took some ribbon I already had in my stash and did this with it!!

Tic Tack toe game
I found this great idea for a tic tack toe game HERE and so I made myself one.....ok it's really for the kids. It was a great way to use up some scraps! I also had some extra chip board squares in my scrapbook supplies so that is what I used for the pieces.
I highly recommend this project. Super fun and super easy!!

Fabric scrap memory game
Once again I found a great use for all those little fabric scraps that I find myself holding on too. I turned them into a game. These are perfect for church, or the doctors office or other places you go where the activity needs to be on the quiet side or you need to take the game home and wash them.
I used heat n bond on the 2x2" squares on the one side and adhered it to the white fabric. The finished squares measure slightly larger then 4x4". I sewed right sides together on the 4x4" squares, turned them inside out and then sewed around them to close up the open side. I decided not to put batting in between only because I wanted it to pack smaller in my purse BUT you surely could add some if you wanted.
Simple, fast and washable!!!
