Vintage Towel Apron for MOM

I took this vintage towel that used to belong to my Grandmother, and turned it into a fun apron for a Mother's Day gift.  It was simple and fun.  All you do it trim off the fringe, sew wide bias tape to the sides and bottom of the towel.  I then made the ties with a long strip of fabric and sewed that to the top of the towel.  So fun and a great homemade gift perfect for any sister, mom or grandma for Mother's Day.

Love this --- I don't have vintage towels, but I have a vintage piece of fabric that my Grandma had in her sewing room. I was going to make my daughter a pillowcase dress, but she doesn't really like the style of them. So, I have been looking for something else to do with the fabric. It just a cotton fabric, but perhaps I could find some type of backing to make it more absorbent for apron use…. hmmmm… now I have some thinking to do. Thanks for the inspiration. I will post when I finish it.

That is adorable! I had a similar idea for mother's day but couldn't find any vintage aprons I liked. I love the one you used--it looks so cheerful and fun!
